Journey through the lives of individuals whose courage, resilience, and fight against cancer have inspired us all. These stories shed light on the impact of your support and the importance of our mission.

“Ten years cancer-free and I thank God every single day for the precious gift of life. At 24, I’m pursuing a law degree and nurturing my passion for music—but my journey here wasn’t straightforward.
Diagnosed with bone cancer at 14, I faced the toughest battle of my life. My diagnosis came from a tireless search for answers, culminating in the expertise of Dr. Jude Gedeon, whose sharp eye led me to the right tests and treatment.
The initial shock was devastating, but conversations with my mother and family friends rekindled my courage. I then flew to Reunion Island for specialized treatment—19 gruelling chemotherapy sessions and countless surgeries, including a complete reconstruction of my left femur.
What got me through was my unwavering faith and optimistic spirit. I conquered the ordeal one day at a time, often buoyed by a remarkable support network that showered me with love and encouragement.
This battle redefined me. It turned my hell into a heaven of new perspectives, making me treasure life’s smallest gifts. Today, as I aim to conquer new challenges, my warrior mentality remains my closest ally.
To those facing life’s trials, remember: fear conquered is courage earned. Fight for what you believe in, because the battle is yours to win. You are never alone—I and countless others stand with you in spirit.”

“My journey with colon cancer started more than a decade ago when I began to notice blood in my stool. A series of consultations with different doctors finally led to a devastating diagnosis: I had colon cancer. The only symptom I had was a recurring trace of blood, yet it turned out to be a sign of a larger problem.
The road to recovery was hard and took me far away from home to Chennai, India. Treatment involved a combination of surgeries, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy sessions. The experience was gruelling, both physically and emotionally. There were points where I collapsed and lost consciousness, only to wake up days later surrounded by medical equipment.
Throughout this ordeal, my faith and family were my pillars. Reciting psalms during radiotherapy sessions, praying with my daughter, and finding strength in knowing people from different countries were praying for me made all the difference. The healthcare team in India was exceptional, from the doctors to the hospital owner who personally made rounds to ensure patient well-being.
Now, I am cancer-free and more conscious about my health. I focus on a balanced diet, regular exercise, and hydration. I strongly believe in the power of positivity and never giving up.
However, my experience has also shown me that Seychelles has a long way to go in providing emotional support and counselling for patients. We need more professionals to help those diagnosed with serious conditions navigate the emotional toll it takes on them. I am sharing my story to shed light on the journey of battling colon cancer and to remind others that with faith, resilience, and the right medical care, recovery is possible.”

“Cancer was a word I had heard many times, but never thought it would be part of my own life story. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, my initial reaction was tears. Yet, I quickly shifted my mindset to ‘why not me?’ After all, so many brave individuals face this diagnosis every day.
This journey changed my life in unexpectedly positive ways. I took control of my health by quitting drinking and smoking, changes I made on my own and of which I am deeply proud. I also began eating a healthier diet, focusing on what would nourish my body and aid in my recovery.
I cannot stress enough the importance of early check-ups. And to anyone going through this, know that you are never alone in your fight against cancer. Today, I am more than a survivor; I am a better, stronger version of myself.”
